MEET THE COACH

Faith. Family. Football.

Coach Jaimie Thomas is a native of Harrisburg, PA and the youngest of 5 children to two AME Church Pastors.  He attended Bishop McDevitt HS where he was a member of the National Honor Society graduating with a 3.7 GPA. His football career began in 10th grade where he was a 3 year starter earning All Conference honors 2x, 2x All State selection, and a starter for the Pennsylvania team in the 2004 Big 33 Football Classic.  He amassed over 25 Division 1 Scholarship offers.

Coach Jaimie accepted a full athletic scholarship to the University of Maryland over his other top choices of Notre Dame and Tennessee.  He played in 45 games over his 4 years in College Park with 24 starts.

He earned Honorable Mention All ACC in 2008 and was also invited to participate in the 2009 NFL Combine.  He also graduated from Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Coach Jaimie was drafted to the Indianapolis Colts in the 7th round of the 2009 Draft.  He would play three seasons as a reserve guard/tackle before his playing career was prematurely ended by a neck injury.  The highlight of his NFL career was being a member of the 2009 AFC Championship team and a runner up in Super Bowl XLIV.

Coach Jaimie was also afforded the opportunity to try out for the New York Giants, The AFL’s Los Angeles Kiss and the Harrisburg Stampede but he was never medically cleared to play.

Experience

PASSIONATE

COACHING

I’m grateful for all that the game of football has allowed me to experience.  Football on any level gives young men a positive outlet for their energy and effort, but also the ability to teach them discipline, time management, and the importance of a strong worth ethic.  I utilize the knowledge and experience gained over the years to help coach a complete athlete; Mentally, physically, and spiritually.  I will not allow athletes to accept less from themselves than they are capable of achieving.

KNOWLEDGEABLE TEACHER

With over 10 years of playing experience from high school to the NFL, 9 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels, along with internships in the NFL, I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge of footwork, blocking techniques and drills, offensive schemes, terminology, and defensive counters used at various levels of play.  This allows me to be a OL/DL technician while also preparing athletes with drills that stimulate in-game scenarios.

LIFE AFTER

FOOTBALL

Having my career shortened due to injury taught me several things.  Most important to me is that, Football is going to end at some point for all of us;  Whether you have the 10+ years HOF career, get cut from your first tryout, or play your last down in high school.  I believe that there are lessons that can be learned within this game that translate into everyday life.  I believe it is my purpose as a Coach to help lead athletes and people of all ages to improve Mentally, and Spiritually as well as Physically.

Offensive Tackle, Class of 2021 at J. P. McCaskey High School

If you are serious about becoming the best you can, Coach Jaimie will get you there.  My high school coaches (and yours too) have to concentrate on bringing the whole line to a point where everyone can contribute.  If you are, or want to be elite; you will need advanced instruction to set yourself apart.
